Johannes Geisen As someone who loves both cinematic music and melodic / symphonic metal, an album taking soundtracks and turning them into metal is a must for me. Add to that not just some of my favourite musicians in the persons of Melissa, Hans, Jenny and Morten, but Tom Englund, Charlotte Wessels, Fabienne Erni, and last but not least Rusandra Panfili, and I have little to ask for. All I miss is Tina Guo with her cello :-). Favorite track: New Horizons feat. Fabienne Erni.

Sharing their stories with a dedicated fanbase, they now announce their debut album, Metamorphosis, out May 12, 2023 via Napalm Records. With this album, the unit around Ad Infinitum vocal queen Melissa Bonny and Feuerschwanz guitar virtuoso Hans Platz dip their soundscapes into mystical worlds, reinterpreting famous soundtrack themes and writing their own songs dedicated to their favorite characters.

Melissa Bonny is the best symphonic female vocalist not named Floor Jansen. Sadly, Ad Infinitum chooses to throw in incomprehensible death metal growling - which I flatly can't stand. The band seems to have lost a bit of identity and direction. moving_pictures

#3 2023: "XANDRIA reborn", concerning the line-up. In terms of music it is what you expect from one of the leading symphonic metal bands. 75 minutes(!) of bombastic, dramatic, well arranged and varied female fronted metal. Each song on this long player is catchy, full of pathos and a hit, Also the new singer makes a great job and brings soul into the heavy soundscapes. A must have release for fans of this genre. Not original, but better than all Nightwash releases since "Dark Passion Play"! H.L.
